Tesco currently have an offer running on Santa Rita wine. (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay & Saugivnon Blanc)
You can buy three bottles for €15, working out at €5 a bottle. These are listed at €9.89 each, though you will normally find them on offer for around €7.00 to €8

Tesco offer a 5% discount if you buy six bottles of wine together in a transaction, however in the case of this offer it is taking the 5% off the original price of the 6 bottles (€59.34), resulting in a discount of €2.97 for the 6. The high/inflated original price is working to the customers advantage in increasing the 5% discount amount.

    Details from the Receipt:
    6 Bottles of wine = €59.34
    Discount - Santa Rita 3 for €15 -€29.34
    5% off 6 bottles of wine -€2.97
    Total to pay = €27.03

    or €4.51 per bottle.

    Enjoy!

    That's a great price.

Santa Rita is a good drinkable wine - nothing special, but sort of worth the €9 regular price unlike the false crap "half price" unheard of chilean sh1te that tesco and dunnes pretend to be worth 13.99 and then sell for an imagnary half price of 6.99 and which even taste vile for a 6.99 bottle.

I wonder how many of those unknown half price offers are legit, if theres any wine people that could tell us.
I tend to pick up the lindemans etc, known brands when on offer.

Good offer, although the real deal to watch for with wine at Tesco is the 25% off any 6 bottles. It's a cracking deal, but they only run it for 1 to 4 weeks, every 3-4 months.
When its on it replaces the 5% off, but it is stackable with wines already on offer. They had this offer on a few weeks ago. Next promo period is usually before Christmas, around November.

I used to sell wine, I can assure you that NONE of the "half price" offers are legit. They always say "RRP" and as they are the only ones with the wine the rrp can be anything.

Margin on wine is 20% - 30%, so once the discount is higher, don't believe it. Odd exception.
