Wheel balancing question

So I got 4 new tyres fitted on Friday.
The wheel weights that they used are the clip on kind ( normally fitted on steel wheels). So my question is, is it possible to get them to change these for the stick on kind that are normally used on alloys ('cos the clip on ones look like s***e) or have they used the clip on kind for a reason?

Presumably your alloys have a lip which allowed the clip on weights to be used.

If this is the case its often much easier to use them as, generally, the inside of wheels are so dirty that it would take a while to clean them to the point of being able to use stick on weights.

yes they do have a lip alright.

Will it be possible to balance them using the stick on kind if the wheels were clean?

Im sure if you go back to where you got the tyres they will do this for you. I always insist on the sticky weights when getting my wheels balanced.

Ok i'll bring them back tomorrow and get them to do them again. I wouldn't think that you would have to ask to get stick on weights for alloys but it was 5 to 5 when I got there on friday so the quick fix was what they wanted

    Just to finish this up.

I got my wheels rebalanced today at the same place with stick on weights free of charge :D:D:D

I'm a happy bunny thanks everyone for their comments and help.
