    Hi Folks,

I need to get a bathroom tiled but having never had the need to go look for/purchase tiles in the past I'm unsure of the best place(s) to go. I know there's Rightprice Tiles and Tubs & Tiles, but is there anywhere else I should be looking? It'll be for a bathroom and I'm based in Dublin.

We just bought the house last year so I've never had to know any of this sort of thing before.

Tilestyle in Balymount...biggest tile shop and display showrooms in Europe.

Also Dublin Tile and Bathroom Centre in Tallaght.......(bought my marble kitchen floor tiles and bathroom tiles from them)

Right Price Tiles at various locations around Dublin.

B&Q also tend to do some good deals at the weekends too.

I used to work in the higher end of this sector.

From experience, if you want quality that you wont be replacing in 5-10 years (or less even) go to Tilestyle or others who have a higher quality of stock. You'll pay more but the quality speaks for itself and will last longer than you will.

If you want to be redoing your tile job in the near future then go with Nationwide tiles or Right price tiles etc.. + B&Q as well. They are the type of places that get there stock based on lowest price per container without checking the finish or quality.

Also it is worth spending the money on a decent tiler to do the job.

I dont think thats a fair or nice thing to say by putting down all other tile shops.:(

    .
The tiles are 1 inch thick solid marble and I got a fantastic deal on a job lot from Dublin Tile and Bathroom Centre.

I looked in Tilestyle for ideas and then shopped around and haggled hard with the various tile shops.

Have a look through my posts for pictures aswell.

    Fair enough thats your opinion.

I am not putting down all other tile shops, I am simply stating the quality difference.

For the record I didn't work for TileStyle, but a competitor. I have nothing to gain but helping someone by passing on my knowledge.

Please do not make the mistake of thickness = qaulity, As even the thickest of materials will break if they are of lower quality construction. Do you know what Grade your Marble is?

I worked in the industry and found those from Tylestyle to be on par with what my shop used to sell, which was top of the market products in terms of quality (the type of products that have 100+ year guarantees).

I'm glad to hear that you are happy with your results and that you got a great deal. I am just recommending that If the op has the money to spend this is where it should be spent, as the higher quality product will better stand the test of time.
