    I'm assuming your budget is the 750 mark. For that you could also consider:

    http://www.cyclesuperstore.ie/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=48668 with the online discount it should be within your budget. Have tried out a couple of the lower spec'd Giants and they are very comfy to ride.

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=67804 if you know the sizing and don't mind getting a bike that requires a bit of assembly.

    Also some of the Carreras in Halfords are apparently quite decent.

    With some haggling you could maybe get a 2011 model bike with Tiagra shifters (much better for shifting from drops) from a local shop.
