Finding work with no experience

Been desperately trying for a while now to try find a job so I can support myself in college. But this is proving impossible as I have absolutely no experience !!!! Well unless you want to count a 3 week TY work placement but that really is laughable to consider as experience. Lots of places seem to be hiring but want people with experience ONLY !!

So just wondering does anyone have any ideas on how to get experience in a job market that demands you have experience before you even get your first job!?!?!?!

I've mainly been applying for places in retail, bars, restaurants and hotels . I've done the whole promotions/charity thing before but I really was truly awful at it.

Hi, have you considered doing something for a Charity? This way you will get some sort of experience and a good Reference. My friends daughter was in the same boat as you and did some volunteer work for a Charity now she has a really good job with a large police force in the UK.

    Good Luck

Can you get a Reference from your last job? I use to employ a great number of people, one lad turned up at our premises with a reference from his paper round! Because he showed willing I took him on. He became Manager and has now gone on to running his own Supermarket. If you have to just tell a few porkies!

Depends what you want to do or feel easy about doing. I do not mean doing legalised begging for these so called Charities that put you out on the street. What about work in a Charity Shop? This way you will get experience with handling stock, money and people with a good Reference. These are so important these day's.

I volunteer in a charity shop. It looks great on the CV, firstly because it is actual work experience and secondly because it shows you are willing to give up your free time to help others- booya !! :)
