Did I see an 80kph speed limit sign on the N6 Bóthar na dTreabh earlier? It is on the stretch coming from Tuam Road towards Menlo Park, just after Glenburren Park.
The rest of the signs still say 50kph in both directions.

I saw something in the plans for the Tuan Rd junction upgrade about a change to 80kmh along that stretch.

Posting from my mobile now, I'll try to dig out the plans later.

Given that most people drive on that section of Bóthar na dTreabh at about 80kph it's about time the limit was updated.

Agreed, and perhaps some Orange reflective poles along the median to help keep traffic in their own lanes.

    This too shall pass.

Had another look today. There is one 80kph sign and all the rest are 50kph.
It's pretty confusing if you're trying to comply with the speed limit. I was under the impression that stretch could not be above 50kph due to the Glenburren Park entrance?
It must be a mistake as the previous and subsequent connecting stretches of BnadT are also 50kph.

This was discussed in the font/morris roadworks thread on the city forum. It was mentioned in the plans. Besides if the limit is imposed early enough before Glenburren Park, there's no reason why it can't be 80km/h.

Turns out that sign was an error. It has now been replaced by a 50kph sign.
Just in case anyone doubts it happened..
