    Hey

Im pretty sure I have lost the car keys to a vintage car. Its a 1982 Aston Martin Ticford.

    http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/2011/07/31/modifid-metros-frazer-tickford/

Im really praying the keys turn up (need to get in contact with CIE) but if they don't does anyone know whats involved in replacing the keys for a car this old, can it be done even?

There were 3 keys on it. A door key, a petrol tank key, and an ignition key.
If they can be replaced, do I need to get in contact with Aston Martin? Is it an expensive job.

urgh cant believe I've lost them :(

Take the barrels out and take them to a locksmith.

Assuming you mean Austin Metro tickford.....or maybe you also made plates for terenure a few years ago...

Assuming there is no immobiliser, you can usually get a locksmith to make keys from the barrels....

Forget about Aston Martin, its a Metro with a bodykit, if a locksmith can't help try Ebay.

Didn't tickford make more Aston Martin tickfords than metros like Capri , lagonda ?

If it's one of these it wouldn't be too difficult.

I would take out all 3 barrels , bring them to a locksmith, he will replace the pins in all 3 to accept the same key , you'll save yourself lugging around 2 extra keys and if you know which barrel was original tell the locksmith he'll use that as the master and you will keep it all original .
It will cost about 100 euro
