Was wondering if anyone knew any good locations to get a good view of the whole of Dublin bay? Obviously the only main view you can get is from the South and up into the Wicklow mountains.

Years ago me and a friend of mine went on a drive up to Dalkey one night and we ended up seeing an unbelievable view of the city at night! Raging I never got a picture but this was long before camera phones ha! Think it was on Ardborough Road in Dalkey we got the amazing view...

Anyway, does anybody know of any good spots for a view of Dublin and the bay?

Should get a great view from the summit of Howth Head.

Kilakee car park or view point as the young crowd call it , near cruagh road above rathfarnham is probably the highest nearest point

It s way higher and above howth head .

Not stricktly speaking Dublin Bay, but the obvious one is the dar coming out of the tunnel at Dalkey.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Killakee car park on a clear night or day is probably the best.

Howth Summit car park is good, but you can't see the whole of the Bay properly, most of the northside is obscurred. The best uninterrupted view from Howth is from Shielmartin Hill and you have to do a bit of uphill walking to get the clear view. At the very top you can see a panorama from Wicklow Head all the way up to the Mourne Mountains on a clear day.

The best view is from Howth Head - but not the car park.

Go to the Deer Park Hotel and park. Then walk around the right side of the hotel and follow the path. There is a very short climb among the Rhododendrons and then it comes out on the top of a hill with the most fantastic panorama from Dalkey to red Rock and north.

top of the three rock, great views, on a clear day all the way down wickloe coast, up north to the cooley and mourns and across the irish sea to wales. beautiful view of dublin bay.

That's Mush/Muck Rock but you can only see to Booterstown as Shielmartin is in the way of the rest. Here's a pic of the panorama from there (~2.1 MB). Nevertheless it's a fantastic view and nice walk through the rhododendrons. There's also a dolmen, Aideen's Grave below which is as old as the Pyramids. To get there take the right after the side of the hotel instead of going upwards to the top.

The three rocks. Not the pub, the rocks on top of the mountain. Used to go there in the summers and remember there being a great view.

Three Rock. Most definitely. Not just great views of the bay but all over Dublin and parts of Wicklow.
