    hey all
    just checking if anyone knows of much work for newly quals in the dubai/uae?

    is it anyway common or is it very rare?

    You could always sell Irish citizenship, to very wealthy people who need a new country, before their old country catches up with them

    Hmmm I presume you mean for companies operating there that want to/also operate here. The legal systems would be very different.

    I'm sure Israel would be happy with an Irish passport or two in Dubai wink.gif Not sure if they'd actually pay you for it though...

    Doha, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi etc all have a fair amount of non-contentious construction and projects work at the moment. Fairly decent UK/Int/US firms often look for NQs who have done a seat in construction.

    Project finance is another sought after area.

    English law (and to an extent US law for certain finance structures) would be predoinant in respect of projects, commercial and similar work provided it's not necessary to be Sharia'h compliant (e.g. for Islamic finance). Certain environments (eg Dubai International Finance Centre) have a separate legal system based on English law principles with written laws. Otherwise, most domestic work relates to decrees by rulers etc so contacts matter more than legal knowledge!
