I am looking for vag cable that enables key fob transponder coding for a Skoda Fabia. There are a wide variety of these cables out there, however when you enquire from these sellers, they don't seem to know what their particular product is capable of. Has anyone got their hands on one of these cables, capable of programming these transponders. If so, can you advise where I can purchase one.

http://vwaudiforum.co.uk/ create account here and ask. Some serious VAG experts on that site.

Im fairly sure you just need a special code. possible called SKA code not sure. pre 2005 the code was written on the emergency key (14 digits) but after that you need to go to dealership. you can do it with a cable if you have that code. If not your going to the stealership who even after wont give you the code they just give you new key.

Not 100% on this so defo go to that site.

I dont think vagcom (vcds) will code a key. AFAIK you need different software to do it. There is only one officall manufacture of the vcds cable, that is Ross-Tech. The cables are avilable from them directly or via their dealers in various countries.

I dont think the dealers can read the SKA code from their machines so they cant give it out
