Ryanair gift vouchers problem - any suggestions ?

    Hi

Just wondering if anyone might have any suggestions on how to to try and get a Ryanair gift voucher problem sorted. (i have phoned them twice over the past week but beause I don't yet have a reservation number they don't seem to be able to do anything. Their website also has a thing where you can send them a message, but again it needs a reservation number in there before it will go any further).

Whats happened is : I have been given a Ryanair gift voucher which I want to use towards a flight that I can book on-line, but the first name on the gift voucher is MIKE whereas my full passport name is MICHAEL. The surname is all correct but when I try and book on-line their system rejects the gift voucher saying its not in the name of the named passenger :(

Has anyone else ever come up against this problem ? And is there any way of e-mailing Ryanair if you don't already have a Reservation number ? I'd prefer to e-mail them anyway, as the people I spoke to on the phone didn't really understand the problem.

Would be grateful for any suggestions.

    Cheers, Mike

This might be a crazy idea, but how about booking the flight in the name on the gift voucher and then calling customer service to change the name on the booking? Usually such name changes are free.

Worth a go. This should be a common occurrence.
