Had my first taste of matchplay there this morning, enjoyed the experience even though I lost 3 & 2. Was playing against a very very solid 18 handicapper. Haven't played or practised due to the weather since the society day on the 4th and it showed.

We were very level over the first 11 or 12 holes with each taking a hole and halving a few but I lost 2 in a row and the head went down a small bit. Lost my ball on the 15th which effectively handed the match away. Pressure was on for the index 1 16th but hit a decent drive and second shot was a tad wayward but still in play. Had an extra shot on the hole and managed a 5 but opponent made his par. Game over! Played the last 2 anyway and bogeyed both!!

Still I enjoyed the experience and the round (except for my terrible short driving which I really need to do something about)
