Bullocks on slats or cubicles

We have changed from suckers to drystock only (long story, new to farming and working full time).

We have a large shed with cubicles, mats and scraper to one end, should we use these or should we block off the section with the cubicles, mats and scraper completely and put down mats on the slats and keep the bullocks in this section.

We also have two other slatted sheds where we will put mats on the slats (thinking easyfix mats at the min).

Also this shed has long feeding bars, should we change these to angle feeding rail, we will be feeding mostly silage from the pit.

    All suggestions greatly appreciated.

I'd be letting them run the cubicles as well - gives them lots of space

    I agree
    space is good
what is wrong with old barrier?if only pit they will pull in very little.
I have no mats although i am told they good.
I would also say mind spending untill you clearly see where you need to spend
