Hey guys, im playing off 8 and really love the game. Im going to re-dedicate myself to the game and im looking to get lessons from a great coach.

Im living in waterford but will travel as far as i have to for top quality lessons.

Any advice on a great coach anywhere in the south or east of the country? Thanks :)

David Kearney in Grange, Rathfarnham (5 mins from the M50 Dundrum exit) is the High Performance Manger for the for the ILGU and comes very highly recommended.

(He is one of the Pros in my club and I get my lessons from him)
Lessons are on a full grass range.

Raymond Byrnes in Lisheen also seems to always get good reviews.

I have gotten a few lessons from Sean Cotter in Mount Juliet and he is very good. I can reccomend himm highly and a number of friends of mine off very low handicaps all find him excellent...

Ive heard some good things about him alrite.

    Any other suggestions guys?

Ive tried a few different coaches and i find it hard to find onw that i think will really help me. Its so frustrating, i have some really bad swing habits that are so ingrained, i find it so hard to get rid of them.

I was like you & decided last winter to put in the work & went to Ian St John for lessons. I was playing off 4 so was looking for that extra push but I know from talking to him he covers all abilities & works with junior golf for the GUI in the south east so that must count for something! I got the lessons in the driving range in Tramore & he uses the V1 video lessons which he sends on to you & you can review yourself afterwards with his comments spoken over the video. A good experience & now that I'm down to 3 & getting closer to 2 I might give him another call this winter!!!!!

stephen fitzpatrick in enniscorthy is supposed to be very good at working with what you have rather than trying to change everything

    Just a short reply

I could not rate Gary in Carlow highly enough, I have seen him work with a range of golfers from high to very low handicappers.

Unbelievable ability to pick up things in your game and work with you to get results. Helps that he is a really easy going and friendly bloke too.

Not as high profile as some but well worth giving a go in my opinion. Everyone I have spoken to who either knows him or been taught by him could not rate him better.

Very apprachable, I would suggest giving him a call or popping in to see him in Carlow Driving Range and have a chat about your game.

    Cheers.
