Bank holiday pay

    Hi all

Quick question, I'm working as a temp with a UK financial company based in Ireland.

As we're a financial company we're expected to work the Irish bank holidays and have the UK bank holidays off. As a result we got paid our standard day for working the Irish bank holiday, and will get paid a standard day for the UK bank holiday, which we will have off.

My question is, is this right? Should we not be paid bank holiday rate for working the Irish bank holiday? Then paid our normal rate for the English bank holiday day off, based on the fact that it's a regular working day in Ireland and, we're available to work but the company is closed?
