Has anyone heard of anti hacking software?

My live account got hacked it seems by another user and hotmail have now blocked my account. I contacted a freecall number for australia (i'm originally from ireland emigrated to aus 3 years ago)they claim my account was hacked by another user from my laptop who gained access and has been using my account.

Only my hotmail account was hacked. This is the site I was directed to
    http://fixemail.net/

It seems these guys are a 3rd party who look after hotmails issues. The funny thing though is they claim I need to download a $199 programme which blocks hackers not just viruses.

I have anti virus and it has not found a virus on my computer. Can anyone help this seems alot just to get a email account back that is free.

anyone else had these issues with hotmail accounts

Definitely seems to be so. However considering all tech support customer care help are now based out of india it wouldn't surprise me hotmail has outsourced to a company over there.

Definite scam in my opinion. Chances are your password was weak or you got phished, it can easily happen to anybody. Best way to protect against hackers is have a really strong password, consisting of upper and lower case characters, numbers, and symbols, and long.

Use a firewall, anti-virus, a browser like SRWare Iron. Read up about only using HTTPS when possible. Install browser extensions and be strict on what sites can use javascript. You can get all this free, it just takes time.

Cheers all never went with these guys way too dodgy. Tried submitting a form to hotmail with as much detail as possible about the account but with no luck.

Seems hotmail are a disaster. I actually used this account as a legitimate email account only for work/ legitimate personal reasons ( all my visa details, bills,CV updates, job applications etc). The funny thing I use my gmail email for all the funny emails and chain mails, yet it has never had a problem. This is the email they sent me (email addy deleted for security reasons as you can understand)

You can't speak to anyone to explain this actually is my account. I can't honestly see a hacker calling or trying to recover an account he/she has hacked. The form you submit is a joke. All they say is go get another one. To make it worse the account I had as the alternative email when I originally set up the email (about 5 years ago) was deleted also by hotmail for non activity ( it was an alternative hotmail email) so they sent recovery emails to an account they deleted which left me no option to change passwords etc. I would never give my mobile or bank details to an email provider, look at what happens!
