Yes it is worse in 2g areas.

Change network mode to GSM only and turn off data when making/receiving calls. I find that helps.

Thats cause older Nokia phones had better aerial's than any new phone out today. Had an E51 for a month while my phone was away in repair. Had perfect coverage with it everywhere.

Where as using the iPhone 4S, SGS3, Sensation, Lumia 800, Titan all got mediocre signal. Dont know what changed but they all seem to have a weaker aerials than they used to have

Nokia fell down on their software, but their hardware was always cutting edge.

Nokia also developed a lot of the GSM and 3G system technologies and spends way more on R&D than its peers.

I'd suspect that their radio technology is second to none.

I think if Nokia launched a range of Android phones, they would be back in a BIG way.

Lumia & Windows Phone isn't really doing it for them.

If Nokia released a Nexus I'd be all over it
