Can you provide a little bit more input? Video format is the film? Which converter and DVD authoring software are you using?

    AVI is a container.

Does the file play with sound in Windows Media Player, or are you using VLC for playback? If you don't have sound in WMP, you may have to install a required codec.

This particular fim has no sound when I burnt it to DVD but it will play on my computer. I have sound on my windows media player but not when I playback the video on DVD...video but no sound. Not using VLC, no. As i said in my first post i burnt any other DVDs no poblem with any of them. sound good, video good. its just this one

If you want to give DVD Flick a go, a free and open source DVD authoring tool. Easy to use as well.

You can also analyze the AVI file with G-Spot and compare the results to other AVIs that have been burned to DVD OK and see, if there is a difference.

AVI is not a fixed standard, maybe Windows DVD Maker can't handle this one.
