Bike to Work Scheme and Local Bike Shops

Question, am I right in feeling the bike shops are increaseing bike prices because of the bike to work scheme.?

Our work place has opened the scheme again but looking around LBS in Galway something just doesn't feel right. No prices on any bikes, alarm bells immediately and when they here bike to work scheme the staff get awful excited.

I'm on the lower rate of tax so I'm thinking that I might actually get a better deal online as the LBS could be screwing me for the 32% that I may save in the long run.

Any advice/thoughts would be very much appreciated

    Bob

Dont tell them your buying on the bike to work scheme, ask the price then go home and compare it to online sales or bike shops in other parts of the country.

Check the FAQs and you may find a link for the BTW Megathread where you can ask your questions;)
