Laptop for video editing

Hey there guys,

A friend of mine is looking a laptop for video editing and web design. It needs to be a laptop because she'll be bringing it to and from college all the time, so for handiness sake really.

I had a look at some other threads on boards and saw one person recommend this one recently

To me that seems decent enough, but I don't really deal with video editing so I don't know what kind of specs are needed.

Less hard drive space but it has the Same graphics card but 2GB instead of 1.

Can anyone give a recommendation? Preferably under €1000 if possible.

17.3" laptop with pretty much identical specs (CPU, GPU and RAM) for 100 yoyos less at komplett.ie ... and it's not a Dell.

No, I reckon it's the same but 100 yoyos cheaper .;)

Better would be this one, same price as the Dell. Only 4 GB RAM, but a 8 GB kit costs less than €50.

Ah yeah, Didn't really think that through tbh! But yeah, To me the Lenovo looks slightly better than the Dell anyway, Same graphics card but the Lenovo has 2GB memory instead of 1GB.

The HD7670 in the Tosh is comparable to the GT 630M but when it comes to video processing, the Core i7 quad will trash the i5.

17" is too big for something that is actually transported frequently. 15" would be a lot better.

My thought as well, but then, traveling home from college may not be all too frequently and a 17" is certainly better for comfortable video editing. I'd even suggest a full HD display (all models discussed so far only have 1600x900), but that would probably go beyond the budget.
