Hi everyone so I got my registration letter today and just have a question. I need proof that I am getting the grant to avoid paying the fee but I don't know if I am getting it yet so do I hold of registering until I do hear about the grant? I don't want to turn up on the 10th and not be registered.

just tell them on the registration day that your grant hasn't been approved yet...

    It worked last year anyway:)

Well actually I am a continuing student. I emailed yesterday the college no reply today. I may just wait until I hear about grant because I can't afford to pay the fee now.

They won't hound you for it. You wont be able to sit exams at christmas if you dont have it paid before there are on. They will increase the fees every month or so if you dont get them paid in time. Just tell them that you are waiting on the grant and if not in receipt of it by the end of September tell the office that and get a letter off your local grant office saying it is still been processed. Its a pain as well because they dont give you passwords to use the PC in the college and no WIT card I think if its your first year :(

John 08, I am a mature student also and have not heard from SUSI yet either. I think we will get a letter during the week beginning 27th August about registration.

Hey so I think I got everything sorted. I first of all rang the SUSI and asked them could they send me out a letter or email stating that I was in the process of getting my grant and half an hour later I had the email. I then got in contact with the college by email. I emailed admissions and the grant department and both replied back telling me to print off the email SUSI sent and on the day of registration show it to them down there at admissions and they will temporarily register me until I receive the grant and then they will fully register me.

So I would basically advice everyone to get in contact with the grant crowd and get an email proving its been processed. Hopefully everything will work out for everyone. Good Luck :)
