You find the Radisson too far out?
It's three minutes walk from the train station

Anyway, the Park House Hotel is nice, right off the square, bit pricy but lovely

It all depends on your budget and which side of town you are mostly going to be in. If you found the Raddisson too far out I would say that is because you are down the latin quarter of the city (Quays, Front Door, Busker Brownes, Monroes, The Crane Bar, Róisín Dubh etc). So, on that assumption, here are my recommendations:

Spanish Arch Hotel (right across the road from The Quays Bar).

Jury's Inn (just a little further down from The Quays Bar).

Victoria Hotel (It's just off Eyre Square but it's much better located than the Raddisson).

Skeffington Arms Hotel (It's right in the heart of the city but it's also right beside a very popular pub so late night revelry at the weekends is the norm)
