straw prices

    lads got the first load of straw home - dry despite the weather :rolleyes:
    just wondering what prices your paying this year,
    i paid €12.50 (in the field 4 x4) for barley straw
    lads are paying €19 to €22 for it delivered at home

    €42 a ton ex field, regular guy I deal with year in year out either 8x4x3 or 8x4x4

    locally 2 lads draw it every year, then again the draw is only 30 mins to a hour each way depending on where your getting it.....

    tis the right way to buy it but weighbridges are scarce!!! find it hard to get big squares

    so your saying they are getting 7 to 10 euros on a haul of 30 miles?? they are taking the mickey, unless they are splitting loads into 5 and 10s etc

    yep!!!
    half loads is the smallest split (17 to 20 bales) a few have even collect 10 or so out of there yard

    i know boys paying €20 for round bales barley straw and they are collecting them in the field he is loading them alright though up donegal direction

    All this talk is irrelevant when no one mentions where they are.

    Too little saved at this stage in the not so sunny south east.

    Probably talking somewhere around €8 per 4x4 out of the field.

    Sold winter barley straw round bales 14euro loaded in the field in Donegal to a lorryman, 72 bale load, not sure what he was getting for delivering them. Think price will rise though,got a lot of orders/enquires in so far. i would deliver a few load to people,28 bale load, charge depending on distance,between 4 to 7 euro a bale,no more than 1 and half hour tractor drive away though,prefer the shorter distance

    €15 per 4*4 collected west co. meath. good stuff baled bone dry last week. would'nt be hard to be better than d sh1t we got last year!!

    paid 28 for 100 8*4*4. - could have bought on the flat for 55an acre which after paying baler man would have been cheaper- didnt want to chance it incase it got rain and left with dung- bird in the hand..............

    dont know the price, but the last load was delivered and put in the shed this evening.
    all done for another year.

    ah bugger, forgot
    have to make and cart in 500 small square bales:(

    bought 80 4x4 bales winter barley straw last saturday 9 miles from home for 10 euro each hauled them home myself
