Just wondering how large the single and double rooms are in Trinity Hall, - size in square metres? With some hard data I can then compare with Mountjoy...

roughly i'd say the single is about 10 sq metres and the double is about 19 sq metres
when you say Mountjoy do you mean the prison?

They actually vary - the doubles are all more or less the same (I think) but my flatmate had a single with a disabled access bathroom, so her room was quite small, while one of the lads across the hall had a room you could throw a party in. Depends on the location of the room (corner room etc) and also the layout of the rest of the flat - some have less bedrooms than others.

Yes, the Joy! It is interesting that that the EXACT sizes (to the nearest cm!) of the various accommodations for the guests of the nation are available on the internet, no problem, while the room size in Trinity Hall seems to be a state secret!

I shared a room in first year and I'd say it was at least 3 times the size of the single rooms. I mean it was absolutely MASSIVE! Would recommend sharing to anyone because you get much much more space and we found that the apartment tended to gather in our bedroom at night and have great banter! Whereas you can't fit more than about 3 people in a single room! Also at one stage I had four guests staying in my room and there was more than enough space!
