free internet / phone?

Can anyone tell me if a pensioner is entitled to free internet? i think he is entitled phone line but wanted to find out about internet, would be handy for skype etc keeping in touch he is on a contributory pension i think not much more than the state one he is over 70 and lives alone,thanks.

No.

Although it may work out cheeper to get a bundle and have some of it paid by the government.

ah ok i just thought there might of been some kinda silver surfer scheme, knew it was just a pipe dream.

If you get a phone and broadband package I think the government will pay the line rental.
