Urgent Help Please

Hi guys

My dad found this bird on the beach today in need of attention (please see attachment)

He took it home and has been feeding it

Is there any advice for him? Is there anyone that can take it and look after it until its ready to be released?

We are not sure what to do

It's a Great Crested Grebe, a beauty of a bird.

Alternatively, if you take a look on that page you might find someone that might be able to help, although hopefully Birdwatch will be able to help or point you in the right direction!

Be careful - they can give a nasty peck. Keep your face well clear, they can lunge quite a distance with their long necks. My sister ended up in hospital after being pecked in the eye by a Little Grebe years ago.
