Sick For Repeats

    Hey guys,

For a number of reasons I won't go into, I had 10 repeats to sit in the Autumn session. I'd done 7 of them up until today but was really sick this morning due to stomach problems i've been having. I emailed one of the admin staff in the faculty office to see if I could defer it as well as the final two which are on tomorrow and Friday. He told me that repeats can't be deferred and that I would have to repeat the whole year. So all the work i've put in so far is gone out the window apparently. Does anybody have any experience of being too sick to sit the repeats? I was hoping that with a medical cert I would have the chance to sit them again.

I think you're screwed man considering you were on your last chance as it was as far as they're concerned.

Ya I can see things from their point of view alright, it's just sickening to have gotten so far and not quite make it. Oh well at least it only means 3 exams to do next year!

Get in contact with your Dept ASAP and explain your situation including the circumstances to why you have so many repeats

get a sick letter,is there a sick bay for repeats surely there is.If there saying you must repeat the year,Whats wrong with giving them a shot!!You have nothing to loose, and as you said you did put a lot of work into them.
Good Luck if you choose to do them:)

I was told by the Dept that the repeats are a safety net for those who either defer the first exam or fail the first one and that the only acceptable reasons for missing a repeat are bereavement or having an infectious disease! My reasons were repeating in the first place were that I'd more or less decided to leave the course due to financial reasons. But things picked up in that regard and I thought i'd give the course and the exams another shot. Oh well, sure what's another year!

    Tell them you have Chlamydia.
If they ask for proof, I know some people who could sort you out ;)
