    Hey guys just took delivery of my new lenova laptop today.
    Just one thing is striking me as strange.
    It has a 1 year manufacturers warranty, however the onscreen lenova suite says it expires in 324 days. Any ideas why this could be the case. Just on principal a little concerned about this. Otherwise really enjoying it so far.

    You may have received the additional 2 years due to registering it, that would be my understanding.

    324days = less then a year :P

    @OP

    They may have turned it on to test and that caused a timer to start but warrantys should start from date on your receipt.

    Was a bit confused there, read the days as 3 years, oops :pac:

    Could be it. Had to set the date and time, but this was on initial boot, before logging into windows. Now just want my £50 cashback. :)

    Year warranty is a crock anyway - if it goes wrong within 3 and they wont fix it go to the small claims.

    Hopefully though you'll just have many years of happy, fault free, computing.

    Maybe it's a refurb...

    In any case, the "Lenovo On Screen Suite" is of little relevance, all that counts is they of purchase, keep the receipt. Maybe register your product with Lenovo.

    And isn't there a two-year warranty mandatory according to EU legislation?

    Phone Lenovo and they will request proof of purchase. They then reg the machine from invoice the invoice date

    Just an update. Had a look on underside of laptop. It has manufactured date in the format year, month, day. At least I think that is the format. That seems to tie in with the dates using a little mental arithmetic. Will verify another day when I have more time on my hands.
