SaorSat & FreeSat with one Receiver, distributed to other Rooms with one Coax out??

Folks, I have scoured the net for the answer but cannot find a definitive answer, so apologies if this has already been answered.

Currently I have sky+, quad lnb to the main room. I use the RF out to a TVLink F140 distribution box in the loft and distribute to 4 other rooms. I use TVLink eyes for remote control.

    I want to cancel SKY.

Ideally I would like both Saorsat and Freesat on one box, i.e. Humax or similar. I would also like to record both to the HDD within the receiver. I would like to then distribute both Saorsat and Freesat to the same existing locations over the same cable. There is only one coax cable going to the F140 etc.

I realise I would need a modulator and possibly TVLink plus adapter in place of the RF out. I also realise I need to alter the lnb etc at the dish and buy a diseq unit (if thats what its called).

    So the main questions are as follows;

Can I get both Saorsat and Freesat from something like a Humax Box without compromising the existing humax epg quality or are there alterations here?

Can I record both to the HDD?

Can I distribute all channels to the other TVs by making the above alterations, ie. the modulator etc?

    Any caveats?

    Thanks in advance

    Smithy

Best thing to do would be to get a TRIAX Combo Model No TSC114, and u will need a TRIAX Tri-Link which u connect the box to via scart, this will then allow you to connect the cable to ur F140 amp to control the box all around the house.

The advantage of the Triax box with the trilink is it now comes with a lead that plugs directly into the back of the box and works immediately u do not need to use the supplied sensors on the triax box. The trilink also comes with 1 magic eye included.

There is nothing great out there that has both the Freesat and Saorview guides as of yet, the Triax box will give u a 7day epg for the rte terrestrial channels. but only now and next on the satellite channels which is a shame, U can connect a usb hdd and record and playback or add jpegs and some movies formats.

Do you mean Saorsat from the satellite at 9 East or Saorview through your TV terrestrial aerial? Saorsat is for a small minority who won't be able to get a Saorview signal, mainly at the extremities of the country. If you mean Saorview I will defer to Steveon's obvious knowledge of the best solution for you available at present.

I said saorsat thinking it might be easier, but either solution is fine given I'd have to alter the external setup anyhow. I seen the new Triax box and that would be great if the EPG was for the Freesat side of things and now and next being Saorview. Out of interest could I do what I want with two boxes? As in distribute both using the F140 and single cables, cant imagine I can? Im thinking I might just have to lose the Irish channels in all other rooms and have it in the main room only, Freesat would be more important..

    Thanks for the replies..

Another question. Could I get a Saorsat receiver with 7 day epg, a Humax Freesat HDR, and distribute to the other TV's using a Triax Tri Link and still control both boxes at the remote TV's? I understand I would need two remotes.. Two EPG's does not bother me. I was also considering a Technomate TM-7102 Super, but they're a bit pricey..

It all depends. If TV3 and 3E are important then Saorview is the way to go. If recording is important then a FreeSAT +HD box is needed. For Saorview a proper Saorview +HD has not been launched yet.

You can use various remote sender devices to control multiple "hidden" devices with each device having it's own channel but for true HD quality a HDMI lead is best between TV and the box.

Saorsat is only intended for those not in Saorview coverage.
