    Hi

I have an interview next week for a website optimisation job and was wondering what technical questions could they ask me? Any ideas or any general tips and advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is it a technical job, or more on the content / marketing side? Do you mean SEO when you say optimisation?

On the technical side, what springs to mind is semantic HTML, HTML5, CSS3, when to use and not to use plugins like flash, how to analyse traffic throughout the site.

Without knowing more about the job or the employer, they might want to know if you can integrate the site with internal systems - e.g. publish information from an internal system (e.g. show stock levels).

Thanks for the feedback, the role is about monitoring and managing inbound links, optimising pages and enhancing the shopping cart experience. I would be analysing the sites preformance and identify areas to increase conversions, tracking and reporting stuff like a / b and multi variant tests. All pretty much straight forward stuff for me, im just wondering what type of questions they would ask me.

Good point about staying up to date with seo, especially the changes to the Google algorithm, that's a real good question and they ll probably ask me that. Any more questions they might ask about?
