I have a lot of work to get done. About 3 extractions maybe 5 fillings a bridge and maybe 8 caps, compounds would do.

Given the high cost of Irish dentists I was considering going up north or would overseas be better?

Would anyone recommend a cheaper option than Ireland without leaving me looking like mr ED

I'd probably recommend going up north for sure. I needed 3 large fillings, dentist in Monaghan quoted 480 euro. Work completed 20 mins away in Armagh for 250 pound.

Would he be talking about metal crowns as opposed to white ones?

You need to think prevention here, you need work but you also need a regular dentist to look after your teeth long term, ensure you go somewhere you can access quick emergency cover and go for regular cleanings etc. price may seem like the biggest factor butqualityand convenience are actually more important.

You are moving to Canada aren't you? get it done there . although prices are high (because standards are high) you will probably have dental insurance through your work which will help a bit.

I agree actually one thing you should look up is what is the cheapest dentist near you,cos if you are in an emergency situation you wont be thinking im going to spend several hours to go such and such a place, stick to the local ones if you can,but if you have the time go for it get the cheapest option.

if you have the time go for it get the cheapest option.

No go for the best you can afford, the thing that costs the most if low quality.
