Seems like a pretty simple and basic question but I can't find it brought up anywhere.

I have a UHF aeriel on the roof with one feed coming from it. If I was to split this in the attic into two seperte feeds for 2 seperate saorview boxes, would the signal be strong enough ? Or does it depend on how close you are to a transmitter ?

I have it going to 4 different saorview tellies no problem. Not the neatest mind! Twisted the lot together promising to get splitters at the weekend about 6 months ago!

I have a fairly clear line towards the transmitter

How good the signal is after you split it in the attic will depend on how good the signal strength and quality is received at your location and the aerial you have, difficult to know the without a meter.

You could try one of these passive splitters - http://www.tvtrade.ie/tv-distribution/tv-splitters/passive-tv-splitters.html. If the signal isn't good enough a standard distrubution amplifier or masthead amp might be an option.
