    Hi
I am running cubase 5 music software on a quadcore p.c with 4gb ram with intel corei5 CPUM450 @24 ghz but it is slow and unresponsive/crashes at times and i want to upgrade both the ram and the processor. Can anyone recommend a p.c builder in galway city that can help here as the shops i went into seemed a bit lost as to what i was on about. Feel free to p.m thanks. Also any recommendations as to what else i might need to upgrade would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Chances are its your doing not the hardware, you're plenty spec'd for it. What interface are you using?

really sound like a software issue,

upgrading to 8 gb of ram might improve it a lot,

i can have look at it if you wish in the next few days, i live in galway and have built a lot custom PC's over the years.

For Cubase 5, you have the hardware for it. Increasing the RAM will give you better performance but ultimately it sounds like you have a software issue (Cubase or the OS crashing)

    Thanks for getting back guys
Dont worry not planning on selling it, just want the thing to work properly!
Will pm Lundar thanks mate. I have an m-audio interface so that end is fine,
hopefully the ram upgrade will help. The p.c will not shut down properly either since i put cubase on it so it could be the o.s.
    thanks again.

What version of Windows are you using? May be no harm upgrading to windows 7 if on a lower version (XP, Vista etc.). For a RAM upgrade to be beneficial make sure your using a 64bit os
