    Hi All,

I was using my friends 1989 case international 1455xl ( red and black one) last week and was going up a not very steep hill in 4th gear in the high box and took my foot of the throttle and she stalled and rolled back . I then give it abit more throttle and away she went again no bother.

I tried her in 1,2,3 in high box on same hill and she will go up the hill with my foot of the throttle but its a different story in 4,5,6 gear in high box she will stall and roll backwards.

IT doesn't seem to be slipping so anyone know what may be wrong.
I think there is a dual or turbo clutch in these ..

    Any advice appreciated

    thanks

i think the turbo clutch is torque converter it has a ordinary dry clutch too i think, the torque converter should slip rather than stall the engine as its only oil pressure that drives it ,you could chack the oil for quantity and condition if theres a burnt smell off it it could point to probs with the torque converter, just a thought if the converter has a lock up clutch in it that may be the prob,

in the higher gears in high box it will stop and roll back on a hill but give it throttle again and it moves no problem again so if you had some throttle on a steady setting all the time you wouldn't notice it at all but it shouldn't be happening.

checked the oil in at the flywheel, turned the flywheel around til we found where the oil goes and opened the nut with an alan key but its full so not the problem there then
