2011 All-Ireland Final Dublin Jersey, how much?

A friend of mine has a framed Dublin 2011 All-Ireland Final Football jersey and it's signed by the whole squad. The jersey itself was worn by a player in the same game, can't remember which player he said!

I'm curious as to roughly how much this is worth?

    Thanks

€20 tops and he'd be even lucky to get that.

It would fetch a lot more if up for auction for charity, than someone buying it to hang up on their bedroom wall.

    I'd say €200-€300.

Potentially thousands if auctioned for charity.

He's not sure, he's waiting to receive it from the crowd that raffled it!

Could be way of but I'd say he should be getting a few hundred for it at least, about €400-500, potentially even more. If I had that I wouldn't sell it though, it'd be a very interesting item to have hanging on your wall.

I know what you're saying but he's not a Dub so no point in him having it.. It was raffled some time ago for a terminally sick person in Dublin 1 night he was there so he bought a few tickets, and then forgot all about it until he got a call a few days ago saying it was on its way to him..

I myself thought it was worth a few grand to a hardcore Dub fan, but maybe not..

Jerseys of recent events aren't usually worth much as you can just get the squad to sign a jersey for you, it can also be difficult to prove that it was a "match jersey", even if it can be proven to be a match jersey, if it has been washed (which I assume/hope it was) it's still not worth that much, players will usually get at least 2 jerseys for big matches (in case they have to be swapped cause of blood stains) etcc, that would mean that there are ~60 jerseys available. Now, if it was a jersey that was involved in a specific incident (e.g. Cluxton's jersey when he took the final free), it would be worth more.

If I was to put an estimate of it's value together it would be along the lines of.
Considering that a jersey can be bought for ~€60, if it was worn in the main match it would have numbers of it (extra 10), treble the value considering it was used. €210.
Considering that GAA players are usually very generous with signatures, they wouldn't be worth that much, but put a value of €5 on each, 30 players, that'd be an extra €150.
Throw in €50 for the frame, that would bring the total to ~€400, round it up to an even €500.

Personally I would think that it would be bad luck to sell something that you won and wouldn't like to profit of something like a raffle, saying that I can understand why someone wouldn't want to have a signed jersey of another county, even if it would be a great story to have. If your friend is determined to make money off the jersey, I would look to setup an online auction for the jersey with at least 50% of the profits going to a good cause, he can pocket the rest. Considering Dublin are still in the championship and could be contesting another All Ireland I would contact the Dublin Press Office and ask if you could get a 2012 Jersey signed as well and auction both as a pair, would make it more unique and easier to sell (for more)

The value would depend on who's jersey it was, for example if it was Bernard Brogan's Kevin McManamon's or Stephen Cluxton's your talking a few quid alright as opposed say to an unused sub on the day, either way it will have 'All-Ireland Senior Football Final 2011' embroided on it under the crest regardless of its number so be a stand out possession anyway. For me priceless :-D I wouldn't sell it but obviously a non Dub won't feel the same way.

He's not looking to profit from the sale.. I think he'd like to auction it off and donate the proceeds.. But he didn't think the jersey would be worth much, so that's why I asked peoples opinions just to get a few ideas.. Cheers

if you can prove its genuine I`m sure many pubs around Dublin would pay big money for the jersey. thousands especially if auctioned for charity..

Depending on the number, my highest bid would probably be in the region of €500 to €1000.

if its being auctioned for charity then that doesn reflect the value of the jersey.......

I would guess you might get €300 for it.
