    hi

    have upc cable internet, will this work on cable please as looking to replace my present cable router as have to reboot 3-4 times weekly

    maybe but it was bought online with a load of other stuff, probably more hassle then it's worth. Am bitter as the linksys is the one I was after but I wasn't prepared to go to €100.

    ah well.

    Its just a router, it doesn't connect to your broadband directly.
    If you've got your phone with UPC too, you are pretty much stuck with their one I think.

    You can use it alright. It just adds a tiny amount of complexity to your networking setup. There are other ways to do it but this will be the easiest.

    Connect a network cable from one of the yellow ports (the four labeled LAN in case your colours are different) on the back of the UPC router to the Port labeled WAN on the Linksys. From now on connect to the wireless network of the Linksys. Or plug the network cable from the pc into Linksys now instead of the UPC.

    If you don't use the UPC phone, you can turn off the UPC wireless as this will help aswell. If you do use the UPC phone, leave the wireless alone on the UPC as disabling it, turns off the phone capability aswell.

    I would appreciate advise - i have ADSL from Eircom and not happy with their mode. If i buy E3200, how would i connect it to ADSL ? Should i switch eircom modem to bridge mode? Many thanks
