    Hi,

Quick question, looking to book the an apartment in Crete for September......Online it charges €177 per person, 354 in total.

Was wondering, since its an apartment......could I book 1 person? They dont seem to do a 'Room Only Rate'

Would it be worth just arriving on and hope for the best for a cheaper rate?

    All replies appreciated!

You should also look at alpharooms for places to stay, I have found they to be very good and often a good bit cheaper than other similar sites.

the reason they charge per person is probably to ensure that there is not over-occupancy on the apartment. If they charged a room only rate, they would not know how many people intend on staying there - it could be 2, it could be 20! by charging per person they are able to control this better. If you were booking for 20 people then they would know to allocate 10 double apartments.

You could indeed book for only one person, but would be fairly sure on arrival they will then want you to pay for the second person. And at that stage the price might be higher, especially as they will then know you will be stuck for accommodation. I don't think it would be worth the risk TBH, and you hardly want to be sneaking in and out of the apartments for a week!

    Try www.hotels4u.com or www.easytobook.com
I find them both very cheap - even more so than booking.com or alpharooms

Thanks guys, got it sorted with travel republic. Got it for 320 in the end, some sites had the exact same package for 589!!! Shows that it pays to shop about! Thanks again
