    Hello,

Going for a trip around Cork & Kerry in early September and would like to spend a day or 2 diving.

Can anyone recommend the best place that offers rental and day trips in this area?

I have the PADI advanced open water completed if that affects possible locations.

    Ocean Addicts in Kinsale
    Aquaventures in Baltimore
Kenmare Bay Diving in ... well, you can guess
    Waterworld in Tralee
Valentia Island Watersports in ... You can see where this is going, can't you?

Thanks for the reply. Would they would be equally as good or is there one you would recommend?

I also heard the Skelligs is good, do you know or anyone offering day trips to it?

I would recommend Waterworld - did my open water with them 2 and a half yrs ago.

Great setup and nice people !

Ps. one of the owners claims to have been the one to discover Fungi (the dolphin) ...dont know if its true or not - but I had no reason to not believe it.

Any of the above would be fine. You didn't mention if you trained here or abroad.
Diving in Ireland while very rewarding can be a bit of a shock to someone who has dived only in somewhere like Thailand but you should be fine as September has probably the highest water temperature during the year.
My first preference would be Oceanaddicts as they are based in Kinsale which is not a bad place to leave the other half if you are out diving for the day.

Yes I trained here in Ireland. I'll give Oceanaddicts a shout and see if they have any trips planned for the dates I'm there. Otherwise I'll work my way down the list above to see if I can get in a few dives with any of the others. Thanks everyone for your help.

Highly recommend waterworld tralee - I just did my open water cert with them and they were some of the loveliest people I've met.

The site was quite nice too (but I have nothing to compare it to...yet! :D )
