Spend money upgraging, or buy a new bike

I have a LaPierre R-Lite 400 FJD 2009 which is in great condition and I am in two minds on upgrading it or changing to a new bike?
The spec is as listed with a few minor changes, saddle etc.
Frame: Alloy 7005 DB - design Francaise des Jeux Fork: Easton EC70 Front Derailleur: Shimano Tiagra Rear Derailleur: Shimano Tiagra Shifters: Shimano Tiagra Chainset: Shimano Tiagra Chainrings: 30/39/50 tooth chainrings Cassette: 9 Speed Shimano HG50 13-25 tooth range Chain: Shimano CN-HG53 108L Front Brake: Shimano Tiagra Rear Brake: Shimano Tiagra Handlebars: Ritchey Logic 31.6X300 Stem: Ritchey Logic 31.8 Headset: Aluminium Integrated 1-1/8 Rims: Shimano WHR500 Front Hub: Shimano WHR500 Rear Hub: Shimano WHR500 Front Tyre: Hutchinson Equinoxe TR FDJ 700x23 Rear Tyre: Hutchinson Equinoxe TR FDJ 700x23 Saddle: Selle Italia XO Special Edition White Seatpost: Ritchey Logic 31.6X300 Weight: 9.4kg
I've been fairly happy with the bike in general and I looked a the spec of new bikes with a €1500 maximum budget, but there is not a hugh jump in spec for the extra €1000 or so I'd be putting towards the bike. So now I'm thinking do I upgrade what I have with a similar budget, change the frame, chainset, wheels?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

P.S I am weighing at 100kg, muscular build and 6ft 3, so would a full carbon frame be suitable for my frame? Any recommendations?

    Thanks in advance

If you are happy with the bike and it fits well, then upgrading is a good choice. Most bikes come with fairly basic/heavy wheelset, so that would be a good start. If you could spend c. €400 on a decent clincher plus good rolling tyres, you would transform the bike. And they can always be tranferrred over the a new bike in the future. If you buy a new cassette, you can keep the old rear wheel for a turbo trainer.

Plenty of thread on here about wheelsets & tyres.

Thanks for the advice. I'm tempted to change the crank set, the wheels
, upgrade the peddles. Or go for a full carbon frame and change the wheels....
