Hi, I was wondering does anyone know where is the best place to buy agri products online for the Republic of Ireland? There seems to be a few out there and I'm just looking for a safe, legit site which is cheap .

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

What types of products? Dosing or farm hardware?

    Hello Reilig.
Dosing, weed controlling, grass seeds in general. A friend of mine told me he buys over the internet and I thought it might be easier just to buy what I need with a cup of tea in hand. What do you think?

    There are a few.
    www.magentadirect.ie
    www.farmrite.ie
    http://www.buyritesolutions.ie/
    http://www.kilmacowagri.ie/

    and loads more.

We have found that you can more often get a better deal by going to your local supplier though. Don't be afraid to ask for discount and quote the online prices!!

I fell out with my "local supplier" which led me to wanting me to buy online. I don't want to travel to far to the next supplier and I definitely don't want to return to my previous supplier.

Although, is buying online any good, how long does it usually take to receive what you bought?

Any information from anyone who does buy online, would help me out.

I would buy a bit of doses etc from Osmonds http://www.osmonds.ie/ delievery within a day or so, I deal with their local rep (call him up for what you want) and then you get an invoice in the post for what you owe them. Very good service I must say. Although like reilig I often find I can get a better deal for alot of stuff locally once I know the best online price.

    Thanks KCTK,

Just looked at that website for Osmonds, looks goods but they don't have any prices shown. Do I have to ring in order to get prices? I'm looking for Prospect sx or something alternative which is clover safe.

Sorry about this, I'm a bit of a novice on the computer.

Hi paul, ya it would be over the phone I would order from them, as said they seem to have reps in different part of the country so they may direct you to one of them or give you details on price etc and take order directly there and then.

Farmrite are based in Armagh, AFAIK. Bought some stuff off them and found them to be competitive. If you buy over a certain amount they may throw in free delivery.

Made my first purchase online last night, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Have used some web sites for buying products. I found that sometimes the correct items were not delivered and there were problems returning the goods. I just go to my local merchant now and tell them what price I can by stuff online. They generally match the price. At least if I am stuck for something in a hurry I can go to my local merchant. I find if you buy a fair bit of stuff of them they treat me right. I suppose it's good to support local business.

Hello Tommyj1, that is good advice. Unfortunately I fell out with my local supplier - lets just say the service wasn't up to scratch.

Received me stuff today, thankfully no problems and couldn't fault the service.

Glad to hear that you got your stuff deliverd and all was in order. Got 2 jars of MCPA in the local merchant today for €42 each. Just after checking the price on agridirect and I see it is €45 + delivery. At least I done something right today.

I can't believe my local supplier rang me asking me if I needed anything, he must have read this post.
