Looking to move from third party sFTP Server to Open Source sFTP server

I've inherited a network. One aspect I don't like is our [windows] sFTP server, not just because it's not open source; It's bloated. It does more than I need. It's a resource hog.

I want to find an open source alternative to swap out. It MUST do sFTP [ssh]. My first option was Filezilla Server. I love this piece of software, have been using it for years in previous employs. However, it does FTPs [ssl] and not sFTP.

I would much rather find a solution that means the least amount of change to customers and other users. Basically, I don't even want them to know the change happened [I have all user passwords]

I've found a few projects available but I haven't heard of any of them. Filezilla Server, to be frank, is a product that I trust because I've used it for years. It's just missing this one feature.

Funnily enough I'm also looking for the same thing but with the ability to accept scripts or automated tasks....Would be very interested if anyone knows of any.

I don't need scripts or automated tasks. I wrote my own database driven auto client to centralise email, ftp and sFTP. Ain't I special?

Appreciate that but it's not maintained [I don't have the time to bug fix etc] and it has too many dependencies [not Windows Native].
For a critical secure, production server, I need something proven stable.

that was one I considered and discounted. Isn't OpenSSH a command line "utiltity". OK, utility is not giving it justice. When I mean is, my understanding is that it doesn't run as a service to accept connections of any type.

Or was I leading a sheltered life for years?

Indeed. It's both client and server. Once running the config for the server bit, it'll give you a prompt for if you want to run it as a service or not.
