Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

USA 12 Month Work Visa from Australia

    Hi,

I'm hoping to take the 12 month work visa for the USA. I'm fully eligible (just graduated from college etc.) My problem is that I'm currently living in Australia, and when I contacted USIT they told me that I would need to sit the interview back in Ireland, so I couldn't go straight to the US from Australia. I've known USIT to get these sorts of things wrong in the past (I've been on 2 J1 visas already) and I wanted to check if anyone here has any ideas about how I could get the visa without returning to Ireland.

Quite simply you can't. USIT are correct in saying that you need to attend an interview at the US Embassy in Dublin.
Same for most if not all work type visas to the US I think.

Bizzare, you'd imagine he could do the interview in the US Embassy in Australia, or is that 12 month visa something solely for Irish citizens due to the "special US/Irish relationship"?
