    Hi...
Im getting married next month and started looking for getting hair and make up for me and my bridesmaids, it is quite expensive and I have never used them before
Do you have any recomendation of hair and make up? Have you heard of / use Vanity and Mascara? Website seems nice
    Also the Powder Room Girls?

Thanks! Any feeback is very welcome!

Hi, where are you based? I got married in June and had the hairdresser and make up artist call to the house the morning of the wedding. It was really nice not to have to go anywhere until it was wedding time :) I can PM you the details if you wish. Both hair and make up were very reasonably priced IMO.

I wanted to book the Powder room girls but it was too expensive for me. I've booked Yvonne from Serene Beauty near Pontoon Bridge hotel. She did a great job and I was happy with the result.

Ask where ever you usually get your hair done and the normal beautician that you use or ask the hair dresser to recommend someone.

    Make Up Crew
Not being funny OP but have you contacted the people in question to make sure they're available? I booked my hair and makeup a few months in advance and the person I originally wanted from the Powder Room Girls was booked. I ended up going with them for hair and makeup, but with different people from those I first wanted. I thought it was worth every penny, but it is expensive.

i went to my normal hairdresser,20e for the hair and a 10e for the make-up.

i had a trial at professional artist and wanted 150e and it would take 1.5 hours.

tbh, i took photos of the local place and the professional and i couldnt tell the difference.

I would have rather spent the extra time in bed

Thanks very much, yes, Im between local and this companies dedicated just for this. Im afraid the make up will not last...
I'll take all the inputs to keep the search...yeah..Powder room girls look brilliant but i need to be very sure given is nearly twice normal cost....
I find it difficult to make the choice as i never had make up done by make up artist in my life....
If you had it done with normal hair and make up artist (not co's) did the make up last well..even if you had a few (or many )tears? Cheers!

Where are you based? I can recommend Mel (makeupbyMelC) and Anna Curran who work together doing hair & makeup. You can go to their place in Coolock or they will travel to you. We had our hair and makeup done in the hotel on the morning of the wedding and we were all delighted. It lasted all night and even in the photos of the residents bar I look all together!

The professional make-up I had done twice lasted the whole day. Just needed to powder my nose every so often to stop it from going shiny. So long as you wear waterproof mascara, most of the tear-related issues would be avoided.

Those are great news and thanks for the info !!!taking it in. This week I'll make the decision and i hope the trial goes well.

Im now also thinking of hair extensions, did any of you got them done? Im just going to check in hairspray what they have to offer and i would wonder if i go with that to get them before the trial....

Not sure where you're based but Kate Noonan did my wedding make up and I'd recommend her to anyway. Absolutely fantastic.

I used a girl based in Co Galway but she travels all over. Both hair & Make up (incl trials) for me and 3 BM's was approx €370, which I thought was very good - PM me if you want her details!

Getting married in October and will probably go with my usual number 2 back and sides and a scissor cut on top. Little bit of gel and job done.

Good value too @ €10 from my local turkish barber's in Ballinasloe;)

Makeup? Nah... bit gay I think for a wedding so I'I skip on that.

    It's great being the groom!:D
