    Hi Everyone,

We got engaged recently and are trying to decide which venue to have our wedding. We have viewed both places and while there is pros and cons for both, nothing is standing out enough for us to make a decision.

If anyone has any feedback on either place I'd really appreciate it, I just want my venue booked so I can actually start to plan the wedding! Thanks! :)

We went to Ferrycarrig Hotel and while the hotel is lovely, perfect for summer weddings, we are getting married in November and it wouldn't have been as pretty.

However, we also found that wedding coordinator, who was helpful, but kind of dictated where the wedding party should go on arrival, and we were told the bar was off limits for arrival. We just found that it would be their way or no way. And we really just want our guests to feel relaxed and if they feel like going to the bar, or sit in the foyer, they could without being pointed where to go and stay.

We didn't go and see Brandon House Hotel, but it is a gorgeous hotel, and the Spa is lovely!

Best of luck with your choice!!

Had our reception in Ferrycarrig Hotel on new years eve 2011 . Great venue great food and excellent staff . I couldn't say enough about the staff and the deal was pretty good.
I didnt look at Brandon Hotel as I'm from Wexford and wife is from Gorey but did look at Arklow Bay , Arklow Bay , Whites etc and there was no comparison

Have you looked at the Riverside Park in Enniscorthy? We got an exceptionally good deal from them and we're really looking forward to the day. :)

PErsonally Other than the outside views, I think the Ferrycarrig is very dated, stuck in an 80's time warp! The food was nice enough, but not outstanding. There was a LONG wait for the meal at the wedding we were at - we were all put in the bar, but personally I didn't like that, no wedding feel at all, and not even enough seats for all of us, as there were other people there having late lunches/early dinner. The rooms were quite expensive for the guests, and we ended up staying in the Maldron and got a taxi - saved €110 by doing that!

Its an ok hotel but nothing to write home about - its biggest draw is the views.

We are also debating between the two. Was definately going to book Ferrycarrig, but then someone mentioned Brandon house.

I believe they have an open day Sunday week - so might be worth while going there to check it out first! Suspect we will still go with Ferrycarrig however. We went in before a wedding and the place looked really elegant. Also, its close to home (for me not OH!) and have heard nothing but good reviews about them.

Like you I have heard nothing about Brandon house. If I like it at the wedding fair, will ask if I can go in and see it done up for a proper wedding sometime.

We're getting married in the Ferrycarrig in 3 weeks so I'll let you know how it goes! Been a dream to deal with so far, no rules, etc.

    Will keep you posted :)

Thank you guys for all your feedback, we really appreciate it! We are going to go back and view the 2 venues again with fresh eyes after hearing everyones thoughts etc, I think I'm being overly cautious but sure, its our wedding day! :)

Hi there we are looking at Ferrycarrig also for 2015 - has anyone got any up to date reviews on it? just wondering how some of these weddings panned out? It seems like a great hotel online - however I'm working overseas at the moment so won't be able to view it for another couple of months but would like to have a shortlist of about 2-3 that I need to view when I'm home for 2 weeks later this year.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!
