    Hi,

Does anyone have a Specialized Tricross for sale?
Looking to do some touring and they seem look a nice set up.
I'm a little over six foot so anything that might suit.

    Cheers.

Just be aware that if you do get one the brakes are not very good and the judder off the front forks is in my mind dangerous.
I had the brakes adjusted and swapped out the blocks for harder and softer ones but after a few weeks same old problem.
better off with a dedicated tourer as i think brakes on all cyclocross bikes are quite poor.

Sold my tricross few months ago , so pissed off with it.

    Good luck anyway

Hi I have a Giant TCX 2 (purchased mid 2010) if you're interested.

It didn't have any cyclo cross use, indeed much use, as I only used it for occasional commuting and some touring - I found it very comfortable for both!

Let me know if you're interested and I can give more detail.

    Best wishes with your search

    Brendan

I had that problem. Eventually corrected by toe in of blocks and keeping rims scrupulously clean. I believe it can be corrected permanently by getting the brake bridge that fits under lower headset (fork crown) and this hanger was on the later models. It was a great training/touring bike and I sold it to someone on this site who used it to tour america. He sold it on again on this site - and I was sorry I missed the chance to buy it back :)

I use a tri cross for touring and she's perfect for it.
The brake issue is easily sorted by fitting the pads properly as mentioned above, I use matchsticks.

Best of luck with the hunt.

Picked one up today, a 2009 tricross comp which had been converted to flat bar.

Cycled the 24km home taught it was grand no problem with the brakes although think they had been changed they were Tektro v brakes.

But still looking for another one or something similar for the girlfriend she is around the 6 foot mark. Gonna be used for touring.

I might be interested in the Giant TCX 2 what size? condition? mods? price?

    Hi there,

Congrats on getting your tri-cross. I've lost my camera so in the meantime here's a link to the Giant website with the bike: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/tcx.2/3889/36630/

    and a review on: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bikes/cyclo-cross/product/review-giant-tcx-2-10-35521

My own one is m/l in size (56cm but I need to check this) I'm 5.10, so I would imagine it would suit. There's no change to the spec given on the websites, other than it comes with dual spd pedals. Also have size 44 shimano shoes for sale! Also have a touring / pannier compatible rear carrier.

€550 seems to be the going rate. I should add I'm based in Cork but travel regularly to Dublin and Wexford.

    Thanks, Brendan

LOL, that's me. Love it. Did the tour of Meath last month, she served me well.

I have a 2011 TriCross Comp you can see here
    http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2011&Brand=Specialized&Model=Tricross+Comp&Type=bike

Too many bike so thinking of letting it go. Any interest?

Yeah I'd be interested, what is the frame size?
What kind of price you thinking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 50 ✭✭dc2

56cm frame - fairly new and not much use so thinking of around €650. Original purchase price was €1700 in Dec 2010 as it is top of the range Tri Cross Comp - spec attached also. Price will include mudguards and rack as in picture attached. Let me know what you think. I'm in Swords and work in Blanchardstown if you want to have a look at either location.
