I gave up on Map My Ride and switched to Strava tbh. Wasn't impressed with the clunky web****e...

Was thinking about switching to Strava also, but worried about losing historical data which is on mapmyride.

you can export each workout as a gpx file and then import that into strava.
doesn't take long, maybe a minute per file

i use sports-tracker - and its free too, and have a nice web interface to look at your data on the PC

no it give all the details exactly as if you used Strava in the first place

    Thanks all.
I actually use both map my ride and strava and the garmin connect. As the climbs seem to be rated differently on map my ride and strava i like to keep an eye on both so i get both perspectives on climb raings!! I find map my ride great for mapping new routes and finding different climbs. its just annoying not to be able to see the maps anymore when you actually do them. I may just email map my ride to see if they can suss out the problem.
    Thanks again.

    Hi,

Don't know how long this will last but there is actually a way to get your data out of MapMyRide in the proper format to load into Strava (I actually tested this just an hour ago and appears to work fine).

A guy over here did the grunt work (and fair play indeed). It essentially takes a text file that has the lat, long, timestamp fields and recasts them into the gpx format (this text file is different to the exported options, which only give lat, long fields).

He set up a webpage here that will do the conversion also (but there is a local javascript version and VBA version as well in the comments on the first link if you'd prefer).

My bad. I was actually using Cardio trainer to map my routes and not map my ride.

There's also http://mapmyridetcxexport.cloudapp.net/ which creates a TCX file.

Hi, the MapMyRide TCX Export tool had to be moved to this address:
