County Council - Green Waste Charge

    Hi all,

I was surprised to read that county councils have a charge on accepting green waste. In my naiveté, I would have assumed that it would be easy for the council to make compost in a large scale and then sell it!! I would imagine that there is a possibility that it would pay for itself.

    Any thoughts?

It is annoying but I know that at least one DCC bring centre sometimes has a deal where when you bring a bag of green waste you can fill the bag with compost for free.

Really? That's great!! I generate a lot of waste. Mind if I ask which one?
    Cheers

It's just off the Crumlin road, turn at the petrol station on the corner of Windmill Road. I don't know if they do it all the time, I've only been there a couple of times and only saw the compost once.
