Saorview and Sky in our apartment

I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I'm confused.

We have Sky in our apartment - but it's not "proper" Sky. We don't have a Sky box and get a slightly random selection of channels, 16 of them (it's not any actual Sky package that I can find online, so I'm not sure how it works! We do pay for it though, through the management company.). Unlike my mum's Sky, our Irish channels have the "October 24th" logo on them, so they're obviously not digital.

I can tune in the Saorview channels on one of our TVs (haven't tried the other), but then I lose BBC and the rest! I'm really confused. Will our apartment management just change the way they supply the extra stations to us or do we have to do something?

So your tv receives & decodes the Saorview channels on it's own tuner? This & the presence of the Irish analogue channels, would suggest there is a terrestrial aerial providing these.

Are the UK & "Sky" channels (which ones?) also tuned in on the tv's analogue tuner? It's unlikely you "lose" them when you tune in Saorview, you just need to select analogue channels on the tv.

These kind of setups have been mentioned in these forums before.

The channels are: RTE 1, RTE 2, TV3, TG4, BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4, UTV, BBC News, Sky Living, Sky Living +1, Sky Living It, More 4, FilmFour and Pop Kids.

I've tried and tried to tune in the above channels and the saorview channels and can't get them at the same time - Saorview is on the digital channel and the "Sky" ones are on the analogue channel; there is no apparent way to switch between the two unless I retune the TV every time.

Edit: I just retuned it there again to see if I could see other options and although I did the exact same thing as last time, both sets of channels are now there! Totally confused, but that is good news, I guess. Thanks for the magic!
