Crackly Sound in FL Studio

    Hi all,

I've had a problem on my new laptop with FL Studio. I keep getting a crackling sound when I play anything. I have adjusted the buffer length, tried Asio4All sound drivers but nothing seems to work. The frustrating thing is that FL ran fine on my old laptop, which had much worse specs than this new one.

Oh and my specs are Processor - AMD A6-3420M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.5 GHz

    6GB Ram (5.48 usable)

It's a quad core processor with a decent amount of RAM. I don't understand why it's performing much worse than my old laptop? I have googled and googled for hours and I still have no idea what the problem is.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Luke

Check the battery icon to make sure it's not running in power saver mode.

That makes the processor run a lot slower.

I know that might be an obvious place to start. You could also check the processor is using the full quad.

My last machine was higher spec than the one I have now. And the one I have now runs faster. It could be something really deep down is not optimised perfectly.

Brilliant, worked perfectly. I just had to change the power plan to high performance. Thanks :)
