Should I be paying USC?

I work part time only 2 days a week and earn around 140e. I am being charged USC every week. My tax cert says my weekly band at 2% USC is 193.00. Does that mean if I earn over 193e a week I pay USC? I rarely earn over that so wondering should I be paying USC at all?

The rates are here. While you may be exempt from the USC at the end of the year, for now you will have to pay it.

    Hi

Get onto your local tax office. If you are entitled to exemption from USC then they will issue an instruction to your employer not to deduct it and they will refund the amount already paid in the year.
